One woman exchanged cards upon overhearing my question to one of the presenters in the “commissary area”… a gentleman and I exchanged cards upon discovering we serve the same market sector in a non-competing manner, while discussing the incredible Seth Godin presentation. I had a really enlightening conversation with the comedian/presenter Tim Davis — good stuff, quite frank and enlightening. This one was the real deal and, unlike the Learning Annex Internet Expo I attended on Sunday, the presenters were not there to hawk their thousand dollar info-packages, but to truly exchange useful information with all in attendance… Cornell D. One person, in particular, I would have never had a chance to meet. In truth, if I saw the pitch in a vacuum, I would have glazed over it. The chat before and after, gave it a whole different dynamic. I am a skeptic of any type of seminar and Rah Rah training, but this is different. Ilana was able to give individual attention to all the attendees despite having to organize the meeting at the same time. Not easy. Most of the folks I met there appeared willing to engage in a give and take (i.e. willing to listen in exchange for being listened to). That isn’t a common feature among other networking groups.
